Visa & Travel Document Guide for Indonesia

Everything You Need to Know Before You Travel

At Toya Mesari Bali, we want your journey to be as smooth as your destination is beautiful. To help you prepare, here’s a simple guide to visa and travel document requirements for visiting Indonesia.

1. Passport Requirements

  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in Indonesia.
  • It must also have at least one blank page for immigration stamps.

2. Visa-Free Entry (Tourist Purposes)

Indonesia offers visa-free entry for citizens of select countries for short stays (up to 30 days) for tourism, leisure, or family visits.

✦ This visa cannot be extended or converted to another visa type.
✦ Common eligible countries include: Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and more.

3. Visa on Arrival (VOA)

For many travelers, Indonesia offers a Visa on Arrival (VOA) for tourism:

  • Valid for 30 days, and can be extended once for an additional 30 days.
  • The current VOA fee is approx. IDR 500,000 (subject to change).
  • Available at major entry points including Ngurah Rai International Airport (Bali).

Eligible countries include Australia, USA, UK, most of Europe, and others.

4. e-Visa on Arrival (e-VOA)

Travelers can also apply online for an e-VOA before departure via the official immigration website.

✦ This option helps skip queues upon arrival and speeds up the entry process.

5. Long-Stay & Other Visa Types

For stays longer than 60 days, or for other purposes such as business, social visits, or retirement, different visa types are required. We recommend checking with an Indonesian embassy or consulate for the most current information.
